Fraud & Safety Guide
At Nepsify, user safety is our highest priority. Since all transactions occur directly between users in person, please read and follow these safety tips carefully to avoid scams.
1. General Safety Tips for Buyers
- NO Advance Payments: Never pay in advance via eSewa, Khalti, bank transfer, or IME. Never send money before seeing the item.
- Meet in Public: Always meet the seller in busy, well-lit public places. Shopping malls, cafes, or police station vicinities are highly recommended.
- Inspect Thoroughly: For electronics (phones, laptops), check the screen, ports, battery health, camera, and IMEI number. Test vehicles with a mechanic.
- Verify Documents: Ask for original receipts, box, warranty card, and citizenship copy when buying expensive products.
2. General Safety Tips for Sellers
- Beware of Fake Receipts: Scammers may send photos of fake eSewa transfers. Always verify your bank balance before handing over the goods.
- Cash or Instant Transfer: Only accept cash or instant mobile banking transfers done right in front of you.
- Meet Safely: Avoid inviting strangers directly to your home unless it is necessary (e.g. selling large furniture). If you do, ensure you have friends or family with you.
3. Reporting Scams
If you see a suspicious ad or are scammed by a user, report the listing immediately using the "Report" button on the ad page, or email us at support@nepsify.com with transaction screenshots and phone numbers.
